Since DNA opened Dallas Transplant Institute in 1981, DTI has grown to meet the many needs of transplant patients with an unwavering commitment to providing complete services and top-quality care.

As a world-class transplant center, DTI has all the laboratory and diagnostic capabilities and support services needed for individuals who will have a kidney transplant as well as for those who already have a new kidney. Our doctors closely follow and monitor each patient right up to their transplant procedure and guide recipients (and donor candidates) toward a successful transplant.

DNA physicians at DTI also participate in immunosuppressive and medical management in liver transplant and heart transplant programs throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.

In the early 1970s, Dallas Nephrology Associates physicians assisted in the initial development of the transplantation program at Parkland Memorial Hospital. DNA nephrologists went on to develop the Methodist Medical Center transplant program, which performed its first kidney transplant in 1981, and opened Dallas Transplant Institute in June of that year.

Today, DTI medical director, Dr. Kosunarty Fa, and several other DNA transplant doctors are affiliated with (and hold leadership positions in) the transplant programs at major hospitals in Dallas and Fort Worth:

  • Baylor, Scott, & White Transplant Services at Baylor All Saints Hospital (Fort Worth)
