Congratulations to Nadiya Lakhani, RDN, CSR, LD for receiving the Council on Renal Nutrition (CRN) Recognized Regional Renal Dietitian Award for Region 4 during the National Kidney Foundation 2016 Spring Clinical Meeting which was recently held at the Hynes Convention Center in Boston, Massachusetts from April 27-May 1. The Regional Recognized Renal Dietitian of the Year Award is designed to honor a dietitian who has demonstrated exceptional abilities of leadership, creativity, and public involvement in the area of renal nutrition in their region. Region IV includes Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas, Mexico, Central America, and South America.
Nadiya has been passionate about renal nutrition ever since she graduated from UT Southwestern Medical Center in 2006. Nadiya is currently a faculty member at UT Southwestern as a preceptor for dietetic interns and a research advisor for graduate students. Nadiya has been very active in the renal community and given numerous presentations at local and national seminars and is a published author in many professional journals, including Journal for Renal Nutrition. Nadiya has served in various leadership positions including as a Chapter Chair and Meeting Coordinator for the local Council for Renal Nutrition, member of the Executive Board for CRN as an Alternate Representative, Region 4 Representative for two terms, and most recently, as the Co-editor of the NKF on-line publication RenaLink. In the past, Nadiya has also chaired the host committee and is currently serving on the program planning committee for the annual NKF Spring Clinical Meetings.
Nadiya is a Registered, Licensed Dietitian-Nutritionist and Certified Renal Nutrition Specialist and currently offices at our Dallas Viceroy office. Nadiya also sees patients at our Desoto Charlton, Dallas Bishop and Irving South offices.
